From Pythagoras to the Romantics there was no question that Music held far greater importance than the role of mere entertainment - it existed as an expression of ideals and ideas, and reflected the diversity of Man and the Universe. Music provided a connection between the earthly existence and eternal reality

Bach's music, written to aspire to the highest potential of human experience and as a force for good, is explored here in a dynamic interpretation. It is believed that Bach, like many renowned architects and artists, utilised the golden proportion (represented by phi) in his music, either intuitively or by design.

Nicholas and Sien Vallis-Davies embrace life affirming philosophies, especially those of a trancendental nature ~ the performances on the CD reflect their desire to free the imagination and see where this leads, embellishing and unfolding the beauty of the music...

On this CD, Nicholas and Sien Vallis-Davies celebrate the fruits of their partnership, both personal and professional. Their musical life has encompassed mind broadening travel and concert-giving all over the globe, sharing wonderful music with audiences from Paris to Tokyo.

In their 20s they were frequent soloists with the London Symphony and London Philharmonic Orchestras, recorded CDs of all kinds for Deutsche Grammophon, BMG etc, and performed concertos, recitals and chamber music in many beautiful, historic venues, working with Solti, Vasary, Ashkenazy and many other distinguished and inspiring colleagues.

They formed a company, Formedia, co-wrote and produced Academy books and CDs for their publisher Music Sales in the USA, and moved into media work for a time, presenting their own series for Channel 4TV and providing innovative music programmes for network BBC Radio and TV and Classic FM. During this time they also enjoyed helping clients in their London practice, moved their base to rural Somerset and took pleasure writing and recording evocative music for EMI (prominently featuring flute and oboe), which has accompanied films and productions throughout Europe and the Far East.

T
hese days, Nicholas and Sien enjoy channeling their musical experience into running their Saturday performance centre, helping others explore their own creativity and achieve their potential.
