Nicholas and Sien have had a long and fruitful association with the film & media world.


Composing and Recording Soundtracks for Film & Media
(Production List below)

When they moved to Somerset in 1997, Nicholas and Sien began to compose, conduct and record their own film & media production music. This featured flute and oboe prominently, often in unusual and innovative settings, and was recorded in the studio with orchestral accompaniment etc..

Since that time, their soundtracks (published mainly by EMI) have been chosen by producers to accompany diverse films and programmes throughout the world. (Some of the tracks are on the Vallis-Davies International Series CD: Shining in the Light which is available from Amazon.co.uk).

Film & Media solo playing

At the beginning of their career, In their twenties, their solo flute and oboe playing was featured on many major film scores which they recorded with the London Symphony and London Philharmonic Orchestras.

Producing and Presenting for TV & Radio

Later, with their own media company, Formedia Ltd, they produced and presented classical music programmes for Channel 4TV, BBC Network TV and BBC Radio 3 and 4.
